Saturday Playlist: DNC Convention Edition
September 8, 2012 21 Comments
Well let’s start with the theme song you never hear anymore. The song that the old, patriotic Democratic Party of Truman and Kennedy loved.
The Democratic method for fixing P\problems
And how they are going to pay for it
What’s on their minds including military policy
And their favorite song
And of course the Progressives anthem

Great selection – now all we need is the kool-aid
Hah, not us, we’re the adults in the room, bloody mary’s perhaps
Yes Sir, that would do nicely.
Interesting that even the pro-Obama papers here can’t say his speech was up to much – that’s a change. Looks like Slick Willie upstaged him – never work with children or animals they say – add William Jeff Clinton to that one, I’d think
Obama’s was a waste of air, and bandwidth. What i of Clinton’s was not all that supportive really but still it was far better. But Clinton was a reasonably good President as well.
Long way from stopping the rise of the oceans to “we could have done worse” though. even when you add “And George Bush”
Indeed – I think the great communicator may just have reminded the Dems that Obama is really a bit second-rate
It’s that pesky problem that the incompetent always run up against. Once you get an executive position you build a record of accomplishments or failures, and your future employment depends on the boss’s reading of that record. I never found him that spell-binding even back in the 2008 but I’m results oriented anyway, which is why I’m a conservative/ sort of republican.
Yes, it is why Obama has to run on negatives – asking for another 4 years to try to get it right isn’t go to work – he’s got to scare people about R&R.
And its just really difficult in my mind to make those two scary, I’d like to live next door to either or both of them-just normal family loving guys that have done it right.
Maybe that’s why they scare the left, ya reckon?
I think there’s a lot in that. Two guys who have made good in the old American way – very scary to Obama and the rainbow coalition.
Yes, good decent men, who have worked for what they have and done well, what a reproach to those who merely want to loot, having no idea of where anything come from.
The central problem with the Left is it believes that politics is about redistributing wealth – it does not realise you can’t redistribute something which is not there. It has no idea how money is made (any more than I have) and does not care (unlike me!).
You, dear friend know instinctively, money (or value really, is created when your contribution is more to a product than what you remove from it to support yourself.
Which is why a factory worker is paid better than a retail clerk. in a proper organization, your compensation is proportional to you contribution.
Indeed – but you can see why they would object to being paid according to their contribution
Sure I can but, that’s their problem, not mine. Although I’m always willing to teach people how to contribute more.
Yes, their problem is nothing in = nothing back, and they need to change their attitude first
WSC used to refer to harry Hopkins as “Lord Root of the Matter” I’d say you’re cut from the same cloth
Thank you kindly, Sir
Very welcome, Maam.
