Romney Camp Removing Rules Committee Members | FreedomWorks

Apparently, it’s true. The establishment Republicans don’t want us any more than the dems do. This comes from Michael Duncan of Freedom Works. I had a similar e-mail from Laura Ebke the chairman of RLC Nebraska a few minutes ago. Many of us have said for a long time that their status as insiders and going to the right cocktail parties is more important to the establishment than  either liberty or winning. This would tend to bear that out. Personally, I think that there is no choice but to elect Romney no matter what but, I also think that next year it may be time for a new party to arise out of the majority of the GOP.

You did notice that the ‘news networks’ aren’t covering this, didn’t you?

Meantime contact your delegates as quickly as you can, this is going down very quickly.

I just got off the phone with a concerned Florida activist, Laura Noble, who informed me that both of Florida’s Rules Committee members, Peter Feaman and Kathleen King, have been removed from the Rules committee and replaced with Romney-appointed delegates.

Clearly anticipating a grassroots backlash against the “compromise” on Rule 15 and the changes on Rule 12 has caused the Romney camp to preemptively replace delegates to ensure they have support on the Rules Committee.

It’s enough to make your blood boil. Please call your state’s Rules Committee delegates here and ask that they oppose the “compromise” on Rule 15, oppose the changes to Rule 12, and support the full Minority Reports on the Rules.

If they succeed, perhaps it is time for a real third party!

    • I think that’s in a lot of our minds, Patricia. Romney is a lot better than Obama but I think it may well be time. (after the election, however, there’s no time now) Like one of my related articles said the hierarchy is acting like the Whigs, and will suffer the same fate.

  2. Welcome to my life, my friend. I’m beginning to wonder if we shouldn’t form our own party.

    • I think after this election cycle we need to think and talk about this. You are, I would guess, about as appalled as the rest of us with your national party.

I think Democrats like you and Republicans like me have far more in common than we think. Too much is distorted through the media, to be sure, but these out of control juggernauts will kill us all soon if not stopped.

      • Agree and agree. I have had it with my party.

      • Thing is, we’re hardly alone, at least two of my subscription blogs are saying the same thing. One of them I’m going to reblog with commentary in the morning.

I’ve had it with the repub jackwagons is the short story.

I feel for all of you. It is like Romney is fiddling whilst Rome burns.

    • Worse, Looks like somebody let Romney play with matches, he’s too tied into the Washington consultants, which we already knew but, he could wait till after the election.

Rebecca’s right about it, of course.

The timing is just all wrong.

        • Very, but that is when the rules committee meets.

        • JessicaHof says:

          Seems very premature.

        • Yes, it does to me as well. Of course what the real point is to make sure they have control in going on to 2016.

        • JessicaHof says:

Well, at this rate they’ll be lucky to still have a party 🙂

        • There’s a good bit of truth in that. 🙂
