3d Sunday in Advent

I know, we haven’t talked a lot about advent this year, often it has been Jess’ brief here, and we’ve not been short of things to write about, mostly things gone wrong.

But that doesn’t mean that I, or you, are not thinking, and praying, about it.

Soon Christmass will be here, and that is far more important than anything of the world, so here.

  1. Indeed this has been a rough Advent Season this year, just very secular amid all of the terrorism, for both France and now America! Sadly I fear a turning point? But Jesus-Yeshua is still on His Throne, the baby Jesus is now as always Lord of Lord’s and King of King’s! Biblical believing Christians will be measuring what we see with our Bible…Come Lord Jesus! Watch modern and National Israel! Indeed again Jesus is Lord!

    • Surely in many ways, the World is already entering “World War”! But the ‘Day of the Lord’ will be a war and world we have never seen, up to this point! (Matt. 24: 14-31, noting especially verses 21-22). Yes, I myself take this time as futuristic and quite literal, and we are staring-gazing (almost in a stupor) at it’s beginnings, 2 Thess. chapter 2!

Thanks NEO and Fr. Robert. I was churched in pre-mid 20th century (well mid to late 40’s) Southern Baptist churches, where teaching said Jews killed Christ and mothers had to switch children not being perfectly well mannered in service. I got switched a lot, I couldn’t help hollowing out…”Hey Grandma” on Sunday when she came in. I think it was called a Tommy Switch Bush. Maybe I should run for President as Tommy Switch Bush, Bush outsider with scars . It would be real experience, not working at Baskins Robbins in Hawaii, no social security card needed, false or real.
But as to Advent…learned a bit coming here today…http://www.bpnews.net/45996/advent-rediscovered-by-southern-baptists

Good article, Unit. It’s important to prepare. In some ways Advent is very similar to Lent. It’s preparation for the coming of the Christ child in much the same way as Lent is for the Resurrection, the second birth. Fr Robert probably knows more than I do with his background, since he came up in the Catholic tradition while I came up in the Reformed, yeah, we’ve almost switched places.

And will be fine too. Y’all (almost, almost )switched places, ok. Still betteren than my old Blazer transfer case seal bad and mix transmission oil and transfer case oil… and Master(me) has to watch mileage to know when to transfer oil back to transmission. Yeah I paid for new seal. Didn’t work good for me. Know when to foldem’. 🙂
