Nikki Haley on Capitalism

A few days ago one of the commentators at Samizdata noted that the first female POTUS will be a Republican, just as the first two female British PMs have been Conservative. One superb and one not so much.

Could this be the female? I don’t see any real reason why not. She incenses all the right people and wins the resultant battle, and that is a need that won’t end on 20 January 2025.

So, Ambassador Nikki Haley at the Hudson Institute on the virtues of capitalism and the manifold vices of socialism.

Just a head’s up; the video didn’t play. Maybe it’s me but I’ve been listening to YT all morning. Perhaps you can check the link? Thanks!

  4. I would love to see Nikki Haley run in 2024. She was an excellent governor here in SC.

I would as well, but likesaidin comments she needs to pick a side, GOPe or populist, the time for fence straddling is over.

      • Agreed. I worry about her succumbing to the siren’s song of sleek respectability, much like Marco Rubio—the Manchurian Candidate—in 2016.

That’s always the problem isn’t it. They sing a seductive song!

        • Now I’m imagining succumbing to Nikki Haley’s seduction. One could only hope to be so lucky; her husband certainly is!

          I’d surely agree with that!

        • Tulsi Gabbard, Nikki Haley—I apparently have a type: mildly exotic professionals.

Seems so, then again neither are bad choices, just don’t actually vote for Tulsi in the general. Yay secret ballot! 🙂

        • I’m a sucker for a pretty face, and my take is that you’ve got to be pretty hot to justify believing progressive nonsense. Tulsi passes that bar. That said, yeah, I’d never vote for her in the general. My vote’s going to another appreciator of feminine beauty—GEOTUS Donaldus Magnus!

Nothing really justifies believing such buswah. But spending your life being told how special you are because you’re pretty comes as close as anything, perhaps.

        • I agree in principle. In practice, I can tune out a lot of “buswah” if it’s coming from a solid 7.5 or higher. That said, it’s always tragic when a pretty girl succumbs to Cultural-Marxist hogwash. They often don’t stay pretty—all that junk takes a physical toll, and makes for a lot of sour puckering. Conservative women definitely get the edge when it comes to attractiveness; funny how sober living and believing there is more to this world than the fulfillment of pleasure keeps a girl beautiful.

That said, I often resonate with St. Augustine’s prayer (to paraphase): “Lord, grant me chastity—but not yet!” Yikes!

We all do, but I think The Other McCain has the best advice, “Don’t stick your [body parts] into crazy.

And pay attention to the Hot/Crazy matrix, as well. There are, I hear, a few unicorns out there. 🙂

Yep, liberalism is soul destroying, and that leaves a mark.

        • Haha, I love the Hot/Crazy matrix. It’s true. And that advice is sound.

There ARE unicorns out there, but they are rare (as the name “unicorns” suggests). I’m actually going to write a blog post about the dating scene. There’s a lot of depressing (and humorous) stuff out there. Girls that are traditional (and know how to cook!) are increasingly rare. Is it so much to ask to find a twenty-two-year old who wants to raise four-to-six children on a private school teacher’s salary? (GULP!)

Sorry to turn your nice piece on Nikki Haley into adolescent drooling over dusky exotic babes.

Damned if I know, I sure never found one! Fun looking, though!

Hah! If you ask Audre (or Jess) I do my share as well, although usually in my case some bewitching ginger who is trying to steal my soul, and usually does 🙂
