I like the ‘peaceful’ protester with his ‘peaceful’ bricks and booze for the cops!

I should point out though that the metric system was foisted onto us. We grew up using imperial, many of our local shops use it and apart from big business, the only people who like it here are the globalists. What should happen, when we leave the EU, is we take imperial measurements back and if people don’t like it, they can move to an EU country!

They tried it here. We refused. It was especially stupid in land measurement in a continent surveyed in square miles. We use it for lots of things though, especially if they have to work with the rest of the world. But few of us think in it.

To be honest, I don’t think our government gave a toss about a change in measurements. It was just another step towards globalism. Either way, there are plenty of butchers up and down the country that still deal in pounds and ounces, including our local butchers. Part of the ‘we don’t like change’ brigade! Good for them.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, Dave. 🙂

I’m still scratching my head over those Japanese Doritos. I assume that’s real and not photoshopped.

As far as I know. So was the place I borrowed from, and so am I. The Japanese are different, but THAT different.

Well we all need something to laugh at I suppose. Still, I have heard good news about vaccines, so I’m trying to cultivate hope. Not sure if I’m succeeding.

I really don’t see the point to the vaccines, looks like nothing but a grifter scam combined with a delaying tactic to me. An excellent ploy to destroy our economies.

I do have doubts about our ability to rebuild after all the economic damage that has been done. We have interfered with capitalism so much already and our education system does little if anything to produce entrepreneurs etc.

Yours (and ours) actively discourages entrepreneurial people, far too much credentialism in our societies these days.

Agreed in all walks of life – which just makes education into another rich guild screaming off everyone else and barring entrance into the workplace,if you’ll forgive my adaptation of Christ’s criticism of the Pharisees.

          Nicholas…
With all the goings on. I haven’t heard how effective was the last flu shot I got in 10/19. I didn’t get the flu, so worked for me. 🙂 (P.S. first flu shot I’d gotten in 6 or 7 years, & did have the flu in ’18 according to MY diagnosis.) But not those other years.
I did get a pretty, bad as is said, cold in first week of March/20. Was it the Covid thing?
Oh well, will bypass testing as antibodies only last maybe a few months, like any other cold, which I’ll get sniffles at least again next year. Not saying this one ain’t worse, but that it’s still a Corona-thing-a-ma-jig, and be back jogging in new Nikees next Fall and in the new year. 🙂
That’s what I bet on there being a effective vaccine about this.
          Don’t mind if I proved wrong. 🙂

I just want us all to get back to normal. This isn’t how society is supposed to operate, grandparents not being allowed to touch their grandchildren, etc.

Ya, you might’ve missed my comment prior. Will be babysitting grands tomorrow. 1 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. Been told I will have to wear a mask. Daughter/Momma a behavorial medicine registered nurse, a highly positive environment for contraction (spitting on caregivers and such)
Oh well, will conceal my stubble that older grand doesn’t like anyways. 🙂
Will I? Let you know tomorrow and why or why not. Starts at about 7:20 CST. Stay tuned. 🙂
P.S. In advance to keep the peace, I shoot you the ’60’s peace sign… :

          Nicholas again…
I guess with how many millions laid off or without their businesses is going to be slow coming back. I remember reading some Fox article about how few even had a thousand dollars available for an emergency.
Well, my HVAC small business that never had credit before put in my new unit on 7/7/20 with half down and six months to finish paying, so much monthly. May cost them in the long run offering credit I don’t know, but not because of me. Already sent first payment.
Then again, my riding mower been in the shop for repairs three weeks now. Proprietor said would be two weeks when I left it, with deposit. Now two more weeks he says ’cause Covid causing delay in getting parts. That many weeks not mowing on my three Florida acres going to take a toll on me when I get it back. 🙂
          I’ll manage though.

Well, nothing in particular just that it brings back memories, since you hardly ever see them in the UK, as our gardens are usually small. I recall we had beautiful autumn leaves.

Had a Jacobsen that lasted over 20 years, never in the shop. Then Yard Machine lasted 12 or so. This Troy Bilt twice in shop already in five, should’ve been before if I couldn’t of been handy. Yard Hardware Matters. 🙂
          Thanks for your story.

It probably is real. I knew a few Japanese at university – one of my housemates was Japanese – and they have a strange sense of humour. They’d have probably been able to explain that very weird packet to you deadpan and you’d still be none the wiser!
