A Letter to Michael Gove

If you know us, you’ll know that Audre and I are avid readers of, and commenters on, The Conservative Woman, a conservative British blog, It is very good and reflects its founders, one of whom is Kathy Gyngell, whom we both count as a friendly acquaintance. She, reflecting our, and most of the rest of her readership’s views, recently sent a letter to Michael Gove, whom she also knows, although perhaps not well (his loss). She published it on the blog, here.

Others, Like me, were most impressed with her forthright honesty, and concern for the freedom of Britons. As it happens, amongst them was the New Culture Forum, set up by Peter Whittle to defend Western culture from the nihilistic orthodoxies dominant in the media, academia, and education. Here she is, reading the letter. Given the givens, a very brave lady, and one I’m proud to slightly know.

Bravo Zulu, Kathy!

At some point. I’ll have something to say about our election, once there is something productive to say, for now, it remains contested strongly.

But do understand this, with Joe Biden (and even more Kamala Harris) we are facing the same kind of intentional destruction of our freedom and our economic well-being that our British cousins are facing now.

The difference is that we have some real conservatives, led by our president, who will fight for us to the last ditch, as they have (and are) proving this fall.

I watched it, I thought Kathy somewhat nervous but a terrific epistle nonetheless. SWYSI is a very interesting podcast. Peter Whittle gets some terrific guests on to speak and discuss what is going on in the UK. I was especially pleased to see my mate Michael Collins on a couple of months ago talking about the white working class which received a very creditable number of views.

This is, I believe, potentially the end of Anglo-America if Biden wins. It will herald a transformation of America as significant as the transition from Republic to Principate or Principate to Dominate in Rome’s history.

Perhaps, if he had won honestly and decisively. He did neither, and has poisoned the cup, If he becomes president he (and Harris) will become amongst the most useless presidents we have had. There is none of the good will which usually lets a presidents get something done. Most Americans still believe in fairness, and this ain’t it.

Indeed. I thank God also that you are armed against tyranny.

I doubt it will come to that, we did too well in the election, unless the Dems really want it to, as they did in 1860.

It was just a matter of time, as Nikita Khrushchev once famously said: “We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have communism.”

We allowed this to happen to us one chink at a time from our armor. We gave in to progressivism, immorality, socialized medicine, teachers who hate the American way of life and the Democracy that made us the greatest nation in the world.

Win or lose, we were going to lose now or very soon to this house divided against itself. And we know what Christ had to say about a house divided.

It’s just a matter of time.

I have several thoughts but it seems to me, that as in most Western countries, we are seeing a descent into meaningless secularism. At least in the UK we have the Crown, but we are going much the same way. I expect the West to die in the dark and the Church to inherit after her resurrection at the Last Day.

Thank you for posting the video, Neo. It is brave people like Kathy who are going to turn the tide of socialism in our countries.

Just so folks know – The Conservative Woman UK is not all politics and is not all ‘woman’; Wednesdays have articles, by my beloved Margaret Ashworth, about hymns (who wrote them, who those people were in their lives, and samples of the hymn by different performers), Mondays have articles about little known (to me, anyway!) bands from the both sides of the Pond, including the music videos, written by Alan Ashworth, Saturdays have articles about life in rural England, called Notes from the Sticks that I just love. They have many contributing writers who are excellent – like Nick Booth; Nick has cancer and an amazing sense of humor that he shares in regard to the NHS (National Health Service). The political writers are first rate – our ‘cousins across the sea’ are as savvy about our system of government as they are about their own. And more men comment on TCW than women. When you go to TCW, be sure to read the comments after the articles – the English are naturally funny, have their heads on straight, are as sharp as a whip crack, and don’t miss a trick. You may even read commenters ‘taking the p-ss’ out of the perennial trolls – hilarious reading, that!

Nice to see a reciprocal arrangement going on between NEO and TCW. Hopefully, readers of this site will skip over and have a look at TCW just as some of us on TCW like to highlight articles written here on TCW. I also hope that those who saw Kathy’s heartfelt letter on YT venture over as well.

As much as I admired Kathy’s stance, Gove won’t read the letter and if by some miracle he does, he’ll bin it and continue in the same vein. For those on here who don’t know, our fake Conservative Party doesn’t have an ounce of conservatism. They are all company men whose first loyalty is to the party and damn morals and principles. Their policies over the last few years – which include the introduction of LGBTQ indoctrination into schools – aren’t remotely conservative and year by year, they continue to drift further towards the left. Despite various sites, like The Conservative Woman, fighting for conservatism, the juggernaut that is the duopoly continues to roll on because our country refuses to move away from these parties, blaming everything from the first past the post system to a preference for the lesser of two evils. True conservatives, like myself, try to persuade the electorate not to follow this path but our voices are like murmurs in a hurricane.

As for the US election, I haven’t given up hope on a Trump win. The blatant cheating and fraud is there for all to see and the mainstream media, which is complicit in the cover up, will not be able to hide it for much longer.

Just to challenge your thought that Gove won’t read Kathy’s letter – TCW is pretty powerful. Remember – Rapscallion (Les) had been estranged from his kids for many years. When TCW did that wonderfully touching obit for him, somehow it got to his daughter and she was able to attend his funeral. Gove may not read the letter but I’d bet my lunch someone shows him the video!

I didn’t know that about Raps. It’s nice that his daughter could see that he was appreciated.

As for Gove, trust me when I say the guy has no principles. Yes, someone might show him the video and yes, Kathy is friends with him (though the relationship will now be strained) but I’ve watched the man for the last decade and he, like many in his party, doesn’t do anything unless he is the beneficiary.

Gove, well, I am glad someone found words that did not fail them – they fail me, and most of them are unladylike. He and Johnson have promised something that is not going to help us in the UK and have failed abysmally to rise to the challenge.
