Have fun, Dearest friend

One of the joys of blogging is the people you meet, and sometimes you can recognize them,  just because they’re special. This is one of those times. Call it an open letter.

I think many of you know my dearest friend, Jessica Hoff of All Along the Watchtower, whose husband, known in this part of the blogosphere, as the Captain has recently returned from Afghanistan. As part of the getting reacquainted process Jessica had scheduled a romantic weekend this weekend for them. :-). Not to be outdone, The Gallant Captain, after Jess got bowled over by some idiot student and suffered a broken wrist, with some new horror stories of the NHS to go with it, managed to add a few days to the getaway so they are leaving this morning.

That unfortunately for the rest of us means that we shall have to carry on with out our wonderful chatelaine, which shan’t be easy.

But I suppose we shall have to:

Keep Calm and Carry On

Which we shall do, while awaiting their safe return to the fold with bated breath.

And in Life’s noisiest hour,
There whispers still the ceaseless Love of Thee,
The heart’s Self-solace and soliloquy.

You mould my Hopes, you fashion me within;
And to the leading Love-throb in the Heart
Thro’ all my Being, thro’ my pulse’s beat;
You lie in all my many Thoughts, like Light,
Like the fair light of Dawn, or summer Eve
On rippling Stream, or cloud-reflecting Lake.

And looking to the Heaven, that bends above you,
How oft! I bless the Lot that made me love you.

The Presence of Love
Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Have fun, my dear friends. 😉

Scenes from a Life Well Lived

A great place to grow up.

Best kind of town

Maybe again, someday. Jim Nabors and the Purdue All American Marching Band.

The family hometown

You already know how much I love it here.

Here’s part of the reason.

More to come, I hope.

This is exactly the truth, in fact, it may be understated. What the people perpetrating this may not understand is: They’re going to starve in dark like the rest of us, if they live that long. It takes tough people to live without modern conveniences, how do you think Lisa Jackson will do?

Death Of Many American Communities Ordered By The EPA. – Tea Party Nation.

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

I found this story yesterday at The Daily Caller.

Here’s what was said in the clip, word for word by EPA Regional Administrator, Curtis Spalding:

Lisa Jackson has put forth a very powerful message to the country. Just two days ago, the decision on greenhouse gas performance standard and saying basically gas plants are the performance standard which means if you want to build a coal plant you got a big problem. That was a huge decision,”“You can’t imagine how tough that was, Because you got to remember if you go to West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and all those places, you have coal communities who depend on coal. And to say that we just think those communities should just go away, we can’t do that. But she had to do what…

If I Wanted America to Fail

This video is going viral, and for good reason. Here is one of the apostles of common sense, telling you how and why America is failing. Watch, Learn, and spread the word. This is very much what I, and others, have been trying to tell you.

And remember this, too.

If America fails, the rest of western civilization will not be far behind, simply because America IS the dream that all free men share.

Hat tip to Mark America.

Veterans Day

This is going to be really short. This is a quote from Great Satan Girlfriend’s Veterans day post that I really liked.

Americans should get on their knees and thank God Almighty for raising up this laughing race of freemen.

Americans energetically pursue commerce, science, medicine, technology and the arts. When these designs are halted by conflict, they energetically pursue absolute, decisive, and ruthless destruction of their enemies. After visiting violence and securing victory they energetically return to the pursuit of commerce, science, medicine, technology and the arts.

The rest of the post is really good, too. Read it here.

I think it pretty much sums up the way we do it.
