I’ve built a lot of miles of line, in my case distribution line but I’ve never done it this way.
Some things you may not know:
- In transmission work, the wire is not allowed to ever touch the Ground. Nicks will cause radio frequency interference.
- Spans (the distance between structures) start at about 500 feet and go up. There are spans across the Mississippi River.
- From what I can see on the video, this is much faster than ground methods, and probably safer, too.
